Class of 1969 Reunion Event Information

Wow, what a turnout! We sold 228 tickets for the Friday reception at the Mercury Cafe and 273 tickets for the Saturday evening reunion dinner at the Denver Country Club. In addition, 111 Saturday GW tour reservations have been made.

Saturday reunion dinner tickets are no longer available for purchase. No reunion dinner tickets will be available at the door.

Friday reception tickets are still available and may be purchased online, on or before Thursday, Sept. 12. You may also pay at the door ($20 cash per person – there is an ATM at the Mercury Cafe).

School tour reservations may be made, before Sept. 12. Both reunion events at night have cash bars. Please bring cash, particularly $10, $5 and $1 bills for the reunion dinner, and remember to tip your bartenders and servers on Friday night only. Additional information for each reunion event is provided below:

Friday Night Reception

September 13, 2019

6:00 -11:30 p.m.

Mercury Café

2199 California St.

Friday, Sept. 13, 6:00-11:30 p.m. Reception at the Mercury Cafe, 2199 California St. – We will serve light appetizers – quesadillas, queso, guacamole, salsa and chips. There is a cash bar, but coffee, tea and soft drinks are free. Jim Chidley and Kevin Fitzgerald remastered music from the late 1960s for the reception as well as for the reunion dinner. There are approximately 50 free parking spaces behind the restaurant and additional parking is available in nearby pay lots that generally charge $5 after 5 p.m. Dress casual – “it doesn’t matter what you wear just as long as you are there!”

George Washington High School Tour

September 14, 2019

11:00 AM and 1:00 PM

The tours, of George Washington, are free, but we must let the school know how many people will take each tour. Make your reservation on the class website for the tour you want to attend and let us know if you’ll bring a guest. We’ll meet at the door closest to the north parking lot before each tour.

Reunion Dinner at Denver Country Club

September 14, 2019

6:00 PM – 10:15 PM

We plan to take a class picture at 6:30 p.m., not 7 p.m. as stated in an earlier email. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. and include grilled steak, salmon or veggie patties augmented with a salad/vegetable buffet and dessert. Dress for the evening is cocktail party attire. (Ladies already know what cocktail attire means, but for the gentlemen it means dress slacks and shoes with a coat and tie optional). Denver Country Club requires collared shirts and prohibits jeans.

Cellphone calls may not be made or received in the clubhouse, but please take pictures. Soft drinks will cost $4, beer $7 and wine/mixed drinks are $10 cash only-no credit cards. Because the club does not allow its bartenders and servers to handle cash, you’ll need to purchase drink tickets (drink tickets may be purchased at registration or near both bars and exact change is appreciated). Don’t tip, gratuities are included in the price of your meal and drinks.
