George Washington High School, Denver, Colorado, Class of 1969 *
This website is dedicated to the 1969 graduating class of George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado. In 1969, GW was home to around 2,800 students in grades 10 through 12. Our graduating class of over 900 students represented a wide range of interests, talents, and aspirations, all brought together under the shared experience of high school. Graduating in 1969 meant stepping into a world of tremendous change and challenge.
The Vietnam War and the draft were pressing concerns, civil rights and social justice movements were reshaping the country, and the counterculture was questioning long-held traditions. Amid these broader societal shifts, we were also navigating the typical milestones of high school life—friendships, studies, and dreams for the future.
This reunion website began in preparation for our 50th reunion—a special opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet classmates we never got to know during our time at GW, and reflect on the unique experiences that shaped us. It’s also a place to honor and remember those who are no longer with us.
We hope you enjoy exploring the website. If you’re a proud member of the George Washington High School class of 1969, be sure to reach out and join our Facebook group!
